I'm from Kansas and I know it!

Have you seen this video that has gone viral? It was posted 3 days ago and is at 2 million views. Holy moly that is a lot! The Peterson Brothers who are from Kansas wrote, sang and recorded a farming version of "Sexy and I Know It" by LMFAO. They are currently in New York to make an appearance on Fox & Friends.

Hope to see more of you Petersons'. Way to represent Kansas farming.

My parents bought a pool. It is there way of luring their adult children back to the farm more regularly and it is totally going to work.

Homemade peach pie with FRESH peaches. Thanks to my awesome co-worker for sharing her fruit tree. Cannot wait for the pears and apples that come next.

I get to sleep in tomorrow!!! Well that is if I get my t-shirt blanket order completed tonight. Ready to enjoy some R&R.

So What! Wednesday

I enjoy reading link ups and it has been a great way to find new blogs. I have participated in FMGD High Five for Friday weekly link up and today I am linking up with Life After I Dew for So What! Wednesday.

So What If

• I bought another swim suit yesterday at Target. It was on sale give be a break...well it was $2 off.
• I have been letting dishes pile up in my sink. I finally did them tonight when I got home from work.
• I put make up on in the car. Before you freak it is usually only foundation. I don't want to lose an eye.
• I watch Pretty Little Liars and OC & NJ Housewives and LIKE them! 
• fixing my hair for the last 2 weeks has consisted of apply mousse to wet hair. I value my sleep that I don't get enough of.'
• If I just brought my sewing machine downstairs to the living room so I can sew and watch TV at the same time.

My niece turned 1 today! Happy Birthday Birkley! I am in charge of making the smash cake for the party tomorrow. I am 100% sure she will completely demolish the cake.

 I broke my iPhone which is like breaking an arm. I don't know what to do with myself. Luckily my sister is usually the first one in our family to get new phones so she has a backup iPhone 3. I get it tomorrow...evening...counting down the hours.

The weather forecast shows some extremely warm and sunny days this weekend. My weekend forecast shows that I will be laying by the pool catchin' some rays.

I found an app called Byline. I love it.  I downloaded the free version and now can easily read all new blog posts from my iPhone (well if it wasn't broke).

Hey, It Is...

Summer is officially here. I don't do much decorating for summer in my house since I would rather spend my time outside. But I did make these simple blocks to sit on my mantel.  

Cut some blocks in varying sizes. Then spray paint them. Once dry free-hand paint letters. Finish them off by super gluing some shapes that can be found at Hobby Lobby for under a dollar. And there you have it, a cheap and easy decoration.

  

Patio Reveal

It is finally time for the Patio Grand Reveal. To truly understand why I am so excited I  must share before and after pictures. It is amazing how easy it has been to forget how ugly, hideous, overgrown, dated, useless (need I go on) the patio was. But now it is perfect!

Pseudo Mom

I was Pseudo Mom for a week while my sister and her husband went on much deserved vacation to Mexico. I am not gonna lie, having no kids and the thought of caring for Aubrey (5) and Birkley (almost 1)  was a little intimidating. I didn't let them know that though! I knew that Aubrey wouldn't be a problem and that she would be a great little helper and that she was. It was Birkley that has been with her momma pretty much everyday since she was born that worried me. 

When I got to their house Sunday evening I was greeted by Aubrey immediately! "AUNT KENZIE'S HERE!" and then "look at this picture I drew. It is you and Dominic getting married. The thing above you is chandelier and on the sides is flowers. Isn't it beautiful?" And so the week begins....

We woke up...

Ate breakfast...

 Did the chores...

Went to the park...

 Ate lunch...

Took naps...

Played some more... 

Ate Dinner....

 We played...

Made treats...

Squawked a little....

We were silly...

 We relaxed...

We Shared the Love...

 

What the pictures don't show are we also played in the hose, went swimming, taught Birkley new words, went to the Carson family farm and did lots of fun stuff, and went to Jan's porch.  It was a great week and we had lots of fun! And best of all we survived and I would do it again in a heartbeat!!!

We got rain Sunday evening. We needed rain SO bad. Still need more, but I would prefer it come during the week to not interrupt my weekend dates with the pool I have the rest of the summer. Is it okay to be picky about when we get rain during a drought?

 Went to Topeka 24Fit Club Boot Camp and let me tell you, it has been a long time since I have done lunges, squats, push ups, sit ups, butt kicks, high knees, mountain climbers...Wow! It reminded me of high school volleyball camp. The best thing is I survived and by the time I got home I was ready to go again next week. Oh and I want to go to high school volleyball camp too! :)

Got my Birchbox!!! Favorite item this month is theBalm Stainiac, which can be used as a lip gloss or blush. Perfect item for the purse!

Bummer for him that his truck is in the shop, but good for me. The bf has been around all week, which means dinners together and miscellaneous projects completed.

With the new patio renovation I've been eyeballing bright colored plastic plates and bowls from Walmart. They were so cheap I couldn't pass them up. And to go with it is the multi-colored serving tray from Target. So excited they will be perfect for the Father's Day hang out I'm having this Sunday on my FINISHED patio!!!!!!!!
